Many of our supporters have flagged their concerns over the impact of the recent fires on Rimrose Valley, its wildlife and habitat. In addition, there have been reports of people shooting wild birds and others removing - or attempting to remove - newts from the ponds.
As Highways England's subcontractors are currently carrying out wildlife surveys on Rimrose Valley and all of the above have the potential to impact their findings, we have made Highways England aware of this activity and asked for it to be recorded, which they have confirmed will happen.
