About the event

On Sat, 23rd March, Merseyside Environmental Trust is holding a free "Cycle Safari" event - a nature trail by bike! The route takes in a section of Rimrose Valley, with riders heading from the direction of the city along the canal towpath, turning left onto Rimrose just before the footbridge at Brindley Close, then heading back down the main path, before leaving via Brook Vale. We'd like to give them a warm welcome and also to encourage everyone to use this as an opportunity to get out on your bikes and remind Highways England what a vital, safe and 'green' route this is for people to enjoy cycling. Let's create a great photo opportunity! We'll be setting up a stall next to the benches on the main path along Rimrose, near the intersection of the footpaths from the Derwent Road and Brindley Close entrances. We will have free cycling guides and maps, courtesy of Active Travel Sefton and be joined by College Cycles, who will set up a workstation for any riders in need of a little bit of maintenance on the day. Why not join us for this short event and cycle with the other riders as they pass through... or even do the whole event. More information, along with a map to be provided in the coming week. Please bear with us while we finalise details.

IMPORTANT: This event could be weather-affected. We hope the wind has stopped blowing! Please check on the day in order to confirm it is going ahead. Riders due to leave Pier Head at midday. Approximate time riders are due on Rimrose Valley is 1pm.
